Advancing equity in massage therapy and healthcare can be complex and nuanced, but it is worthwhile and achievable. This continuing education class on health equity provides massage therapists and other healthcare practitioners with grounded guidance to support equitable and inclusive practices. Students will explore the impacts of bias in healthcare and learn strategies to address inequities. Topics include bias, racism, poverty and other factors that influence health disparities.

Attendees will learn proactive and flexible approaches that sustain relationships and improve care. This class will teach attendees how to cultivate a practice that disrupts racism and bias and advances health equity.

Health equity is a core value for many healthcare practitioners, and this course is intended to support the unique goals of each practitioner. The climate of this class is supportive and conversational to foster curiosity and reflection.

Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences. Diversity is a fact about every group, and the class environment is intended to support students wherever they are in achieving or approaching their equity and inclusion goals.

Mask policy: Surgical masks are optional.
